Hi, I'm John and I'm an educator, instructional designer, and creative. I received my PhD from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and my M.A. from Boston College. I have taught undergraduate courses for over a decade, directed a university honors program, taught at a nerd summer camp, and a bunch of other stuff.
My research interests lie primarily within the intersection of phenomenological studies of embodiment, Latin American/Caribbean Philosophy, and decolonial thought. I have written essays on gift and economy, philosophy of religion, digital humanities, and popular culture. I am also the co-editor of This Is My Body: Philosophical Reflections on Embodiment in a Wesleyan Spirit" , a volume of essays on embodiment for Pickwick Press.
I currently live in Saint Louis, Missouri with my family.
